Sweet Tomato of Kochi
Everyone in the kitchen was so excited when they saw the box of "tokutani" fruit tomatoes from Kochi, Japan putting their thumbs up. Priced at approximately Rm20 each, these would be one of the more expensive tomato that anyone would ever come across.
We gave these tomatoes a try, and it unknowingly brought a smile on each of our faces as we savor them. As small as a western soup spoon, these tomatoes are so sweet that they are comparable with any fruit, juicy and delicious with a fragrant fruity note. Due to their sweetness and flavor, these tomatoes are best served raw as a compliment for seafood, or tossed into salads and pastas.
To best keep tomatoes, store them at room temperature because storing them in the fridge would affect the flavor and cause the tomatoes to become mealy.
