prawn me @ jalan macalister

As I walked into the food court i was looking around to check out what most people were eating and couldn't help but noticed that most people dining here ordered prawn mee. Since i have never tried the prawn mee here, i was confident that i had found the right place.

An indian uncle was selling curry puff table to table so we decided to give it a try. The crust had a texture of chapati that was crisped on the outside, the puff was filled with soft curried potato. The added light pickled onion, pungent with a slight acidity added an extra dimension to the curry puff.

So i ordered the Prawn Mee with extra pork intestines added, the soup enhanced by the flavor of the added pork intestine was delicious with the distinct sweetness of the soup, with the gentle kick of spiciness, saltiness and flavor of shrimps.

Here we have Har Ko (Mantis Shrimp) in prawn mee broth. The soup was sweeter than the Prawn mee i had above due to the added har ko. This was my first time ever tasting har ko that hasn't been deep fried, the har ko looked and had a texture of a springy minced meat.

In summary, the prawn mee had won over the votes of my family and i'm sure that we will be visiting the stall again if we ever travel up to Penang again.

Seang lim top taste prawn mee,
